Where do I find the main entrance of GERRY WEBER STADION?

The main entrance is located directly in front of the GERRY WEBER STADION with access over Roger-Federer-Allee or Weidenstraße.
The main entrance of the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER is located vis-à-vis block G of the stadium and is signposted.

Is it possible to use the public transportation system with the purchased tickets?

As of 01.06.2011 the entrance tickets are at the same time riding pass in short distance traffic.

Are there parking spaces available for events at the GERRY WEBER STADION and/or the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER?

Parking spaces for about 3.500 vehiclesare located within close proximity. The parking fees are 5,00 Euros per car and each day on all parking areas. For selected events, a bus shuttle is provided, taking you from the parking lot of the GERRY WEBER International AG, Neulehenstraße 8, 33790 Halle in Westphalia to the GERRY WEBER STADION free of charge. Where exactly are GERRY WEBER STADION and GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER located?

Both venues are located in the Eastern Westphalian Halle at the foot of the Teutoburger Wald- Forest. In close proximity there is the local train station "GERRY WEBER STADION" (5 Min. by foot), connecting the stadium with the cities of Bielefeld and Osnabrück.

The Bundesstraße 68 (federal road) leads through Halle, where the GERRY WEBER STADION and the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER are located. From there you can reach the A2 quickly in Bielefeld-Sennestadt or the A33 in Borgholzhausen.

Are there reserved parking spaces for wheelchair drivers?

Visitors with valid disability ID and a wheelchair are allowed to park directly at the stadium. When approaching the main entrance of GERRY WEBER STADION you will automatically be guided to the proper parking area by the security service.

Entry

When do the doors open to public?

Admittance to the ground for events at the GERRY WEBER STADION normally take place 2.5 hours before the start of the event. Admittance to the Walkway for events at the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER generally take place 1 hour before the start of the event. Admission is exclusively possible with a valid entrance ticket, which looses its validity when leaving the hall.

Which items may not be taken to the events?

The following items may not be taken:

  • Weapons of all kinds
  • Other objects which could be used as throwing objects or used as weapons
  • Travel suitcases, backpacks, bags (larger than DIN A4)
  • Bulky objects, e.g. Transparent, flags, banners (larger than DIN A3), ladders, stools, chairs, crates, umbrellas, helmets
  • It is prohibited to carry food and drinks. Exceptions apply to visitors who are obliged to bring food according to the illness on presentation of a medical certificate or a corresponding passport. Except is also the catering of baby-food.
  • Megaphone
  • Laser pointer
  • Fireworks and other pyrotechnic objects
  • The carrying of medically necessary assistants (rollers) is allowed only in designated areas for safety reasons. Rollers can not be taken into the ranks. Escape and rescue routes must be kept clear.
How do the controls at the entrances take place?

At the entrances, all visitors are checked for prohibited items, in addition to the card control. This is done by body checking and under certain circumstances with metal detectors.

Main entrance to the stadium ground is located directly at Weststraße and is only a few minutes’ walk away from the parking spaces.

Is it permitted to bring cameras and video cameras along to the events?

On principle, it is prohibited to bring professional cameras and video cameras along. This mostly is due to explicit request of the organizer or the management of the respective artist.

In exceptional cases (GERRY WEBER OPEN, Sportevents) digital cameras (no professional equipment) fot personal use are permitted.

Proffessional equipment are cameras with interchangeable lens with a focal length above 50 mm, additional exchangeable lenses, camera bags and tripods.

May I take own beverages and food along with me to the events into the halls?

Taking food and beverages along into the event halls is permittet under certain circumstances. PET-bottles with a maximum of 0,5 litres and dry food is allowed on the stadium ground. Visitors who are dependent on special needs regarding food are allowed to bring it, if they can submit a medical certificate or a disabled Identification card. Food for babys and toddlers are allowed as well.

Yes, at the entrance of the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER there is a supervised wardrobe.

When has the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER been constructed?

Excavation on the construction site for the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER was in April 2002. Opening took place on schedule with the GERRY WEBER OPEN in June 2002 by the annual general meeting of GERRY WEBER International AG.

Is the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER also suitable for wheelchair drivers?

The entire complex of the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER is at ground level and thus accessible without problems for wheelchair drivers.

What is the holding capacity of the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER?

The seating in GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER can be varied. There are various seating plans for the events, like e.g. theatre style (about 1.500 seats), picnic-table seating (about 1,500 places incl. standing room). Events with standing room only, may be visited by about 2,500 persons. Seating plans are retrievable under "service".

Why has the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER been built?

The GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER evolved from the VIP-area of the GERRY WEBER OPEN. In order not to be forced to erect a pavilion every single year, we opted for a fixed construction, in which events on a small scale may be organized as well, like e.g. small concerts, comedy or children’s musicals.

What was situated there, before the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER has been constructed?

During the GERRY WEBER OPEN, the VIP pavilion was erected once a year at the spot, where the EC is located today.

Gastronomy

Is there a gastronomic offer at the GERRY WEBER STADION and the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER?

There is always a gastronomic offer, in the GERRY WEBER STADION as well as in the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER. During stadium events there are several food stands on the stadium area offering food and beverages. In poor weather conditions you can also use the newly built catering service inside the stadium between the inner ring and the gallery, which provides seating accomodation as well. During GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER events there is a catering service available before the beginning of the event and at the break in the location itself or the inner Walk Way.

GERRY WEBER OPEN (GWO)

Can I buy tickets for a specific match?

You previously opt for a specific matchday e.g. 1. lap /Monday or quarter-final /Friday. You always purchase a day ticket for all the matches of the day. You can not buy a ticket for the match of a specific player, since the fixtures for the first lap are the result of the drawing taking place only shortly before and on the other match days the matches are carried out in K.O.-mode. Thus nobody can say in advance, which player will play on a specific day.

You can reserve tickets by phone at 05201-8180 or online go to "tickets"on this page. Or you can purchase tickets at the ticket agencies, associated to CTS-, TicketOnline- or NordWestTicketSystem.

When will Roger Federer play?

GERRY WEBER OPEN record champion Roger Federer has confirmed his participation in the 27th edition of the ATP 500 grass court event from 15th to 23rd of July 2019.

First round takes place on two days (Monday the 17th of June and Tuesday 18th of June). On one of these days Roger Federer will play his first round. Same applies to the second round (Wednesday the 19th of June 2019 and Thursday the 20th of June 2019). The Order of Play will be released by the ATP on the previous evening of each match day and will be released at our website as well as on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GERRYWEBEROPEN/).

Is it permitted to bring cameras and video cameras along to the events?

When do autograph sessions take place?

Several autograph sessions take place throughout the grounds every day. The daily schedule can be requested for each day from 11 o'clock on the information desk at the main entrance.

Can I enter the stadium ground without paying, if I do not wish to watch the tennis matches?

No. For this case you can purchase a so-called ground ticket at the GERRY WEBER Ticket-Center (in pre-selling) or on the respective day of the event at the box-office. With this ticket you can enter the stadium ground and the adjacent courts. Furthermore, you can watch the supporting programme on stage at night in the beer garden. You will not be admitted to GERRY WEBER STADIUM.

Is there a box-office?

There is a box-office at the main entrance of the stadium ground, which opens during tournament week.
 
At the opposite of the box-office you can find deposited tickets for pick up in case you did not receive your tickets via mail.

Can I also watch matches on the adjacent courts with my day ticket?

You can watch ALL matches, also the ones on the adjacent courts. You have a fixed, numbered seat of a price category of your choice at the Stadium on the Centre Court and can go to adjacent courts at any time, to watch the matches there. Here, you can choose your seat freely.

Are there any reductions for tennis clubs?

Tennis clubs, being members of the Westfälischen Tennisverband (WTV) (Westphalian tennis association) or the Niedersächsischen Tennisverband (NTV) (Lower Saxonian tennis association) will receive a 20% reduction on all price categories and all days of the matches. For this, you have to request the corresponding order form of the club at the relevant association and fax the filled out form to 05201-818199.

Are there any reductions?

On what covering the matches take place?

The GERRY WEBER OPEN is the only ATP 500-tennis tournament in Germany played on lawn.

When will the qualification for the main group beginning on Monday take place and can I watch these matches?

Qualification takes place at the weekend before beginning of the main group. It is open to public and admission is free.

Can I watch the supporting programme taking place every day with my ticket?

You can watch the supporting programme with your ticket. Performances of artists, bands etc. take place after end of matches always on the stage in the beer garden.

Can I watch tennis with my VIP ticket?

No. With your VIP ticket you always have to purchase an entrance ticket. The VIP ticket only entitles to entrance into the VIP pavilion.

When do the matches start?

As soon as these information are fixed you can see them under "opening times".

Can I stay overnight during the GERRY WEBER OPEN at the GERRY WEBER Sportpark Hotel?

Usually, there are no vacancies during the tournament week at the GERRY WEBER Sportpark Hotel.

Where is the referee seated, and where are the players’ benches then?

The referee is seated in front of block C. The players’ benches are placed beside on right and left side. That means if you have seats in block C, you are seated behind the referee and the players; seated in block G, you see them from the front.

Which is the sunny side of the Stadium?

In the afternoons, the sun shines directly over block C. Block F, G and H are in the shadow.

Is there a bus shuttle-service?

You can park conveniently on the parking space of GERRY WEBER International AG at Neulehenstraße 8 in Halle/Westfalen, and go from there by Shuttle-Bus to the Stadium. The bus is free of charge.

Is my ticket valid also for the public transportation system?

ATP Information to Data Distribution & Live Scoring

No ticket holder or spectator may continually collect, disseminate, transmit, publish or release from the grounds of the Tournament any match scores or related statistical data during match play (from the commencement of a match through its conclusion for any commercial, betting or gambling purpose). The continual use of laptop computers or other handheld electronic devices within the confines (spectator area) of the tournament match courts is prohibited. The exception to this provision is properly credentialed media, tournament vendors and tournament staff when used in the performance of their duties.

GERRY WEBER STADION (GWS)

When has the GERRY WEBER STADION been constructed?

Start of construction of the GERRY WEBER STADIUM was in 1992. 1993 the first GERRY WEBER OPEN took place with a capacity of 5,500 seats. Immediately after them, the Stadium has been extended with the construction of the Gallery and of the convertible roof to 11.500 seats.

Boxes-what is it?

The boxes are placed in front of the actual rows in sub-tier.
During the GERRY WEBER OPEN these are mostly sold as complete package as week- or weekend boxes incl. VIP-Catering.
For concerts, the boxes are available as standard entrance tickets. In blocks A, B and H however, these are preferentially sold in connection with the VIP packages.
The number of boxes is reduced during events taking place on the elevated sports floor (Handball, Volleyball...). Due to the floor foundation, the boxes at the longitudinal sides C and G cease to exist. Boxes then are only available at the short sides and in the corner blocks.
Almost all boxes comprise six seats. These are not numbered! In the box, you always can CHOOSE your seat FREELY!

Can the stadium be heated?

Yes, the Stadium may be heated. In 2005 a heating system has been installed with infrared emitters and windblockers. However there still remain areas which can not be protected completely against draught, due to the open construction type of the Stadium.

Is there an elevator to get to the gallery?

No, there is no elevator.

What is the difference between the sub-tier, the gallery and the interior?

The sub-tier of the Stadium is the original stadium, before it has been extended in 1993. The below stand comprises about 5.500 seats. The gallery is the upper stand, subsequently installed together with the convertible roof on the sub-tier. You can compare the seats there with the seats on the balcony of a theatre. You have to climb about 100 steps to reach the Gallery. The interior is tennis court. Here, either a seating is set up for concerts or the standing room is located there.

Is the GERRY WEBER STADION suitable also for wheelchair drivers?

The GERRY WEBER STADION is also suitable for wheelchair drivers. However the number of wheelchairs that can be placed depends on the type of event and on the arrangement of the stage.

Subject to the stage- or field layout the capacity can comprise up to 11.500 spectators.

Why has the GERRY WEBER STADION been built?

Originally, the Stadium has been built as tennis stadium and home of the only ATP lawn tennis tournament in Germany, the GERRY WEBER OPEN. Owing to the reconstruction, and the closable roof (opening/closing in 90 seconds), it has been converted into a multifunctional arena for sports and concert events.

Where is the stage set up during concerts?

Depending on the production, the stage is placed at the short side of the stadium in block E or is set up as centre stage in the interior.

Will the roof be closed during events?

The stadium roof is opened or closed respectively depending on weather and arrangement of stage machinery.

Where do the buffets for customers with VIP tickets and VIP packages take place?

Generally, during sports events the VIP area is situated at GERRY WEBER Event Center. The gala buffets for gold-, silver- or exclusive-package customers (during concerts) normally take place at GERRY WEBER Sportpark Hotel.

From which age children have to pay?

For all events (with the exception of children’s events) at the GERRY WEBER STADIUM and at the GERRY WEBER Event Center admittance for kids up to and including five years of age is free. In these cases kids are not entitled to a seat and have to sit on their parents’ lap. For children’s events, admittance for kids up to and including two years of age is free. In the VIP-area, admittance is free for kids up to and including 9 years of age.

Which events take place in the event halls?

In both halls, various sports events, concerts and musical events take place. These events are public events for which tickets may be purchased by all interested persons. In addition, also so-called private events are organized in the halls. Among these rank corporate events, product presentations, or private events.

Am I allowed to smoke in the event halls?

For safety reasons, smoking is not permitted in the halls during events.

Is there a lost property office for lost property?

Found property on principle will be handed over to the police. They will then be handed on to the lost property office of the city of Halle (www.hallewestfalen.de).

During the GERRY WEBER OPEN there will be an information container placed at the main entrance of the stadium ground. Here, lost property will be collected during the week of the tournament. If the objects are not picked up during the week, they will be returned to the lost property office of the city of Halle.

Are kids and adolescents allowed to visit concerts without accompanying person?

This depends on the age of the kids. Pursuant to § 5 of the Jugendschutzgesetz (law for the protection of the youth) ("dance events ") attendance of children and adolescents under 16 years of age without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian is not permitted - and attendance of adolescents over 16 years of age until midnight at the latest.

Are all fees included in the ticket prices?

All fees, including the VAT are included in the ticket prices. Solely the service charge of 4.90 Euros is invoiced at dispatch of tickets for each order.

What can I do if an event is cancelled for which I already have bought tickets?

Generally, already purchased tickets are taken back exclusively at the ticket agency where you have purchased the tickets.

Can I cancel entrance tickets booked by me again?

Tickets which have already been paid may neither be exchanged nor returned.
Insofar as the presenter offers services from the sector recreational events, in this case entrance tickets, no distance selling contract pursuant to §312b BGB is effective. This implies that no two-weeks’ withdrawal and return right is effective and that each order of tickets is binding immediately after confirmation by GERRY WEBER Management & Event GmbH & Co. OHG and commits to purchase and payment.
Tickets that are still unpaid can be cancelled in absolutely exceptional cases, indicating an important reason.

Severely disabled persons, who require an accompanying person (identification: B for Begleitung-accompanying person), receive one ticket for free upon presentation of their ID, irrespective of the category for which they bought the ticket. No reductions are granted for pensioners.

Are reservations possible already before start of pre-selling of an event?

No.

Why am I unable to purchase tickets for events any longer at some ticket agencies, although they are not sold out yet?

There are several ticket distribution systems, e.g. Ticket Online or CTS. Decision about sales and marketing and distribution of quotas is in the hands of the respective presenter.

What to do, if I haven’t received a confirming mail for my online reservation?

Where can I pick up my reserved or deposited tickets?

The respective box office is situated at the entrance of GERRY WEBER STADIUM or of GERRY WEBER Event Center.

Can I also reserve my tickets to pick them up at the box office?

On principle, we do not reserve any tickets, but we only book them bindingly. Since unpaid tickets will not be deposited, you have to pay them in advance by credit card or direct debit. This is as well possible at short notice (until one day before the event).
Given that we are, of course not able in this case to deliver the tickets by mail, we deposit the tickets for you at the box office.

Can I order and / or reserve tickets by phone or online?

You can order tickets by phone at the Ticket hotline at 05201-8180 or on this website on the page "tickets". However, they can only be booked bindingly, not reserved.

How to order tickets online?

With the menu item „tickets“, you reach all events and can choose them there. You decide how many tickets you want to buy in which price category, enter your personal data and select the desired payment method. The order will be processed within the following two working days.

Can I express wishes for specific seats when ordering?

In case of an order by phone you can of course always express your wishes. Our staff will be pleased to advise you in a competent way regarding all seats at the GERRY WEBER STADIUM and GERRY WEBER Event & Convention Center.

Are the reserved seats for one order always placed beside each other?

The seats are always placed beside each other. In case this should not be realizable any more, we will contact you by phone or by e-mail.

How is the procedure when paying with credit card?

As per your specifications the relevant amount will be debited to your credit card account. Immediately afterwards, the entrance tickets will be sent to you by mail. We accept Mastercard, VISA and American Express.

How is the procedure when paying by invoice/money transfer?

You receive an invoice a few days after your order by phone or your online order. You have a period of two weeks time, to remit the amount with specification of the invoice number and the customer number. As soon as the money has been credited to our account, we will dispatch the tickets to you.
This procedure, however, is only possible up to 3 weeks before the event at the latest!

How is the procedure when paying via direct debit?

In accordance with the information provided by you, the invoiced amount will be charged to your account and the tickets will be sent out immediately afterwards.
Please understand that we are not able to offer the paying method “direct debit” for all events!

Which fees do I have to pay in case the tickets are being dispatched?

On principle, we charge a service fee of 4.90 Euros for each ticket dispatched by post.

Is it possible to receive an extension of time when paying with invoice/ by money transfer?

Only in reasonable exceptional cases is it possible to grant an extension for your tickets paid by money transfer. Please contact our ticket hotline at telephone number 05201-8180 stating your invoice number.

Where to buy the tickets for events at the GERRY WEBER STADIUM and at the GERRY WEBER EVENT CENTER?

The GERRY WEBER TICKET CENTER is located only a two minute walk away from the GERRY WEBER STADION in Weidenstraße 2 in Halle in Westphalia. Here you can buy tickets for our events directly on site. In addition, you can buy the tickets also at ticket agencies in your town, associated to the CTS-System, to TicketOnline or to NordWestTicketSystem.
